The purchase by the government of Rio Grande do Sul of 2,200 tons of powdered milk announced this Wednesday (19) was received by the production sector as the first step to alleviate the crisis of excess supply. The acquisition was formalized via public notice number 0004/2025 published in the Official State Gazette (DOE). In the document, the Executive branch informs the reservation of R$ 86.5 million for the purchase, coming from the Rio Grande Plan Fund (Funrigs). The funding is limited to the purchase of products from cooperatives produced in Rio Grande do Sul. Interested institutions must submit documentation by December 10. The purchase will be distributed to families in situations of social and nutritional vulnerability, between December 2025 and May 2026.
