According to the Gyeongbuk Agricultural Technology Institute, damage has recently occurred in cabbage cultivation areas where leaves turn yellow, and field investigations have confirmed damage caused by cabbage yellow virus, prompting a warning to farmers. In the past two years, climate change has led to a decrease in cabbage production and a sharp rise in prices, with Gyeongbuk ranking third in nationwide cultivation area, growing cabbage in regions such as Bonghwa and Yeongyang. According to the Gyeongbuk Agricultural Technology Institute, cabbage primarily harvested in summer in Bonghwa and Yeongyang regions has been investigated for causes of leaf yellowing and withering, with damage attributed to cabbage yellow virus infection.
