A hail and rain storm in the Yeşilhisar district of KAYSERİ, Turkey, has caused significant damage to agricultural areas. The storm, which lasted until evening, damaged around 5,000 decares of land and 1,500 decares of cultivated grain fields. The damage, which affected mainly sunflower seed, sugar beet, pumpkin, and grain cultivation, was estimated to be between 20-90 percent. The Yeşilhisar Chamber of Agriculture and the District Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry have inspected the damaged areas. The Chamber's President, Murat Demirel, has called on the authorities to assist the affected farmers and to repair the damage quickly.
