The Peruvian Ministry of Production has given the green light for the Peruvian Sea Institute (Imarpe) to conduct Operation Merluza XXXI from August 25 to 27. The operation will be conducted in the sea area between the northernmost point of the Peruvian maritime border and Punta La Negra (06º00'S). The operation will be carried out by five fishing vessels, one of which is an alternate, all of which have a valid fishing permit and operate under the Temporary Fishing Regime for the Hake Resource (Merluccius gayi peruanus). The operation aims to monitor the development of the hake resource's reproductive process and its size structure. The fishing activity will take place beyond the five nautical miles of the coastline, adhering to Imarpe's guidelines. The hydrobiological resources extracted will be processed in licensed processing plants.
