Hazelnuts occupy 95% of the newly established 1,172 hectares of nut orchards in Ukraine

The area of walnut industrial gardens in Ukraine is constantly increasing. For the sixth year in a row, the “lion's” share of the country's newly created industrial gardens established with the help of State Support Programs for Horticulture is made up of walnut gardens. This was reported on his Facebook page by Gennady Yudin, President of the Ukrainian Walnut Association. As reported, the largest number of such industrial gardens is grown in: The fewest gardens are in the northern and eastern regions of Ukraine: Rivne, Chernihiv, Donetsk and Kirovohrad regions. The dominant crop in the established walnut gardens in recent years is hazelnut - 95% of the newly created 1,172 hectares of walnut gardens. For the period 2018-2024 (as of 10.01.2025) 15444 hectares of orchards have been planted, of which 6268 hectares are walnut orchards, or more precisely 41% of the area of all orchards in the country.
