In Huji Village, Henan, villager Lv Yuku has seen significant success in yam farming, having planted three varieties across 100 acres. This year's harvest has been extremely profitable, with prices for the iron rod yam exceeding 5 yuan, Xishi yam nearly 5 yuan, and yellow yam 2 yuan per catty. The high yield of the crop has also resulted in a profit of over 10,000 yuan per mu (a traditional Chinese measure of land). The majority of the yam is sold in the southern markets, with some reaching as far as Hebei and Beijing.
