Ana Carolina Locatelli will be the first woman to lead the operation of the Guaratinguetá Chemical Complex, BASF's largest unit in South America. The biochemical engineer will take up the position in December 2025, after more than 18 years with the company. Before arriving in Guaratinguetá, the executive was responsible for the operations of dispersions and resins in Chile, Argentina, and Brazil. "I take on the challenge of maintaining the Chemical Complex as BASF's main production hub in South America," she told the Column. Timenow, one of the big five in Brazilian engineering, has just hired Marcio Tannure Rotta de Almeida. With experience at Suzano and Vale, among others, Almeida will be in charge of the Directorate of Mining, Steel, Metals, and Infrastructure.
