Pork prices in Brazil are experiencing a surge due to the holiday season, with the highest increase seen in Santa Catarina at 4.62%, resulting in a kilo costing R$ 6.79. Other states like Minas Gerais, Paraná, São Paulo, and Rio Grande do Sul also reported price increases. The special carcass in the São Paulo wholesale market saw a 4.32% appreciation. However, pork consumer prices varied, with Goiânia showing a 2.57% decrease. From January to November 2022, pork exports volume decreased by 2.8% compared to the same period in 2021, totaling 1.017 million tons, despite generating US$ 2.319 billion, which is 5.3% less than the previous year.
