The People's Council of Huong Khe district in Vietnam has provided over 34 tons of maize seeds to local farmers to support their production. The council has issued a resolution to subsidize the cost of winter maize varieties in 2021, setting the rate at 60,000 VND/kg for HN68 and HN88 varieties, and 50,000 VND/kg for CP511 and CP111 varieties. In total, the district is expected to sow 1,800 hectares of winter maize, requiring over 34 tons of maize seed, valued at over 4.5 billion VND. The district will subsidize nearly 1.8 billion VND from the budget for farmers to purchase the seed.
