In 2020, Spain experienced a 21.1% decrease in peach and nectarine exports by volume but an increase in value due to high export prices caused by frost damage to crops. Despite this, Spain remained the world's largest exporter of these fruits, accounting for 34% of global exports. The main importers were Germany, France, and Italy, with Germany being the largest market in monetary terms. The average export price was $1,484 per tonne, a 43% increase from 2019, and is expected to remain high if weather conditions do not improve.
