In 2022, Kazakhstan experienced a decrease in koumiss production by 9.2%, producing a total of 1,520 tons from January to November, compared to 1,544 tons in the same period of the previous year. On the other hand, shubat production saw an increase of 7.8%, with a total production of 2,644 tons in the first 11 months of the year, up from 2,453 tons in the same period of 2021. Dairy products continue to be a significant part of the Kazakhstani diet, with the average per capita consumption being 56.3 kg for the third quarter of 2022. However, the average family's expenditure on dairy products increased by 18.8% in the July-September 2022 period compared to the same period in 2021.
