In the first quarter of 2024, Uzbekistan experienced a significant boost in its fruit and vegetable exports, with a 43.3% increase compared to the same period in 2023, totaling 514.8 thousand tons and valued at $298.5 million. This growth contributes to a 3.5% share of the country's total exports. The primary markets for these commodities are Russia, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, and China, receiving 26.3%, 24.2%, 13%, and 9.3% respectively. In an effort to facilitate smoother export processes for perishable goods, Uzbekistan is planning to establish special corridors at certain customs posts for vehicles transporting products like cabbage, onions, and cherries.
