During the first quarter of 2024, India experienced a notable 13.35% increase in coffee shipments, totaling 1,25,631 tonnes, primarily fueled by a surge in demand for Robusta coffee. Despite a decrease in Arabica coffee exports, Robusta and instant coffee exports witnessed significant growth. This period also saw an increase in the total value of coffee exports, with Italy, Russia, the UAE, Germany, and Turkey being the top destinations. The Coffee Board of India anticipates a rise in overall coffee production for the 2023-24 marketing year, following a downturn in exports throughout 2023.
