Argentina: The National Institute for Fisheries Research and Development will survey shrimp in the San Jorge Gulf, national waters, and the Chubut coast

On Thursday, October 31, the National Institute for Fisheries Research and Development (INIDEP) began the survey campaign for shrimp (Pleoticus muelleri) in the San Jorge Gulf, national waters and the Chubut coast aboard the commercial fishing vessel Bogavante Segundo. With Ms. Juan de la Garza as scientific chief and invited scientific personnel from Santa Cruz, over the course of 20 days, where the vessel will behave exclusively as a scientific research vessel, researchers and technicians will verify the presence of concentrations of shrimp accessible and vulnerable to the commercial trawl net in the areas between parallels 43º 10 S and 47º S and west of longitude 063º 50’ W and will analyze the spatial distribution of mature females and impregnated females.
