Alanya, a city in Turkey, has become a major hub for the production of tropical fruits such as mangoes, bananas, and avocados. The district now produces 38 types of tropical fruits, with mango production seeing a significant increase due to its high income potential. The area under mango cultivation has been expanding annually, with production currently standing at 65 thousand tons from 74 decares of land. Other tropical fruits like avocados have also seen a surge in cultivation, with the area under cultivation growing from 250 decares in 2012 to 15,500 decares. The marketing of mangoes is well-established, primarily catering to the domestic market with a small export to Russia and Iran. A single mango tree can potentially earn 190 thousand TL.
