The Taiwan Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced that nine shipments of fresh strawberries from Japan have failed pesticide checks at Taiwan Customs, making a total of 35 such shipments that have been returned or destroyed since November 2021. In response, the FDA has begun inspecting every shipment from Japan and has requested Japan to provide a written explanation for the high pesticide levels and a plan to rectify the issue. The FDA is set to continue its inspections for the next four months, with a deadline for Japan's response set for May 6.
