The Jeollanam-do Agricultural Research Institute (Director Kim Haeng-ran) announced on the 22nd that it held an interim growth evaluation meeting as part of the joint research for developing new barley varieties, which is being jointly pursued with the National Institute of Crop Science and agricultural research institutes from each province. The evaluation meeting was attended by over 30 experts from related organizations, including the National Institute of Crop Science, provincial agricultural research institutes, the Agricultural Genetic Resources Center, and the Korea Agricultural Technology Promotion Agency, who directly observed the growth status of major barley strains such as wheat, rice barley, naked barley, and oats, and conducted an in-depth assessment of regional adaptability and growth characteristics. The collected data is expected to be used as basic information for developing new varieties and cultivation techniques in the future.
