Oil World analysts predict a rise in Kazakhstan's vegetable oil production and exports for the 2022-23 season, largely driven by the sunflower oil segment and increased export shipments to China. This growth is attributed to the significant processing of oilseeds, especially sunflower seeds, which surged by 40% due to imports from Russia. The double of sunflower oil exports to a record 200,000 tons in the 2021-22 season and the expected high volumes of imports from Russia and record sunflower seed harvests are key factors in this trend. China is expected to become an even more significant export destination for Kazakhstan's vegetable oils this season.
