Malaysian palm oil producers have concluded a business mission in Central Asia, aiming to boost exports to the region. The first trade visit to Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, organized by the Malaysian Palm Oil Producers Council (MPOC), is anticipated to increase exports to $15 million. The delegation's objective was to establish new business connections and increase palm oil consumption in Central Asia, a market with high demand for vegetable oils. In 2022, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan imported Malaysian palm oil products worth around $36.5 million and $48 million, respectively. MPOC intends to continue representing the Malaysian palm oil industry in these high demand markets, focusing on sustainable practices.
