In December 2022, Mexico achieved a record pork production of 162,908 tons, showing a 4.3% increase from November and a slight 0.2% decrease from the same month in 2021. This figure contributed to an overall growth of 2.6% in pork production for the year, reaching 17,303,190 tons. This growth rate was surpassed by poultry meat, which saw a 3.3% increase, and was in line with beef production, which increased by 2.3%. Despite pork having the lowest production volume among the three meats, at 22.5%, the sector's performance in 2022 was marked as positive, achieving 99.6% of its expected production target for the year.
