Indonesia's marine and fishery commodities are experiencing a surge in global demand, as shown by an 8.74% increase in export volume and an 8.09% increase in export value in the January-December 2020 period compared to the previous year. The country's fishery exports reached 388,655 tonnes, valued at IDR 20.57 trillion. The Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, Syahrul Yasin Limpo, has praised the BKIPM Jakarta II Center for its role in facilitating these exports and ensuring the safety of fishery products. The exports consist of various seafood species and were sent to countries including Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, and many more, with health protocols in place to prevent virus contamination and maintain export acceptability.
