Severe frosts hit apricot, peach, cherry and plum orchards in northern Moldova in late April, with temperatures dropping below minus 9 ° C. The rest of the country saw weaker frosts and perennial crop plantations were barely affected. The Ocnita region suffered the most damage, with estimates putting the loss of apricots and cherries at 90-100% and 70-80% respectively, and plums at 40-50%.
