Chef Kim Si-hyeon, known as "Baby Beast" and a cast member of "Chef in Black 2," gained attention on a broadcast where he was seen picking wild herbs. However, experts have issued a warning against the indiscriminate picking of wild herbs by the general public. This is because consuming toxic herbs that look similar to wild herbs can lead to poisoning symptoms such as abdominal pain and vomiting. According to the Ministry of Forestry and the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, there are consistent reports each year of individuals who pick and consume similar-looking toxic herbs and then experience adverse symptoms. Over the past five years, there have been a total of 94 reported cases of suspected toxic herb consumption, with the main examples being American ginseng, which is confused with ginseng, red tree which resembles a pine tree, poisonous water dropwort which looks like watercress, and yarrow which resembles scallions.
