MT leads Brazilian beef exports with 23% of the total in 2025

Mato Grosso was the state with the largest participation in Brazilian beef exports in 2025, accounting for 23.1% of the total volume shipped by the country. Throughout the year, approximately 978.4 thousand tons of the protein were exported, destined for 92 countries, consolidating the state as the main national player in the international trade of the sector, the Mato-grossense Beef Institute (Imac) reported in a statement. In the comparison between the states, Mato Grosso is followed by São Paulo (with 833.8 thousand t exported), Goiás (508.1 thousand t), Mato Grosso do Sul (450.1 thousand t) and Minas Gerais (324.6 thousand t). The performance was driven by a year considered historic for the Mato-grossense livestock industry, according to Imac. In 2025, the state registered the slaughter of 7.4 million heads of cattle, achieving an approximate revenue of US$ 4 billion from beef exports.
