Niger authorities have banned the export of rice and some grains in the interests of the domestic market

The Niger government has decided to ban the export of rice and some grains, in particular millet, sorghum and corn, to supply the domestic market with these products, the Maghreb Arab Press news agency reported. The measure was supported by the head of the National Council for the Salvation of the Homeland, General Abdourahmane Tchiani. The only exception to the ban will be exports to two countries - neighboring Burkina Faso and Mali.
