Vietnam's tuna exports reached 99 markets in 2022, with 92% of the total export value going to the US, EU, CPTPP, Israel, Thailand, Russia, and the Philippines. The US market saw a 44% increase in tuna exports, reaching nearly $487 million. The EU market, benefiting from the EVFTA, saw a 15% increase, totaling nearly $166 million. However, the demand for tuna consumption and imports is decreasing due to the global economy's recession and inflation, with a forecasted decrease in exports in the first quarter of 2023.
