In the Junín region, the 2025 Vicuna Capture and Shearing Campaign concluded, achieving the capture of 8,496 specimens, of which 3,109 were sheared. As a result, a total volume of 556 kilograms of fiber was obtained, with an average of 178.81 grams per sheared vicuña. During the activities of the traditional 2025 vicuña chaccu, 15 peasant communities participated, with the support of the South American Camelids Unit, the Junín Agrarian Agency, the Directorate of Agricultural Development, and the Regional Directorate of Agriculture. These institutions worked in coordination with the Regional Association of Vicuna Breeders (ARECRIV-J), agrarian cooperatives, and other organizational forms.
