In August 2020, Vietnam's pepper exports amounted to 18 thousand tons with a value of $ 45 million, marking a slight decrease in volume but an increase in value compared to the previous month. Despite the decrease of 4.6% in volume and 3% in value compared to August 2019, the first eight months of 2020 saw a significant drop in pepper exports by 7.4% in volume and 19.9% in value compared to the same period in 2019. The average export price in August was $ 2,500 per ton, showing a slight increase from the previous month. The export of ground black pepper experienced a notable growth in major markets like the US, UK, and Japan from July 2020 to July 2020, with prices fluctuating worldwide throughout August 2020.
