Peruvian exports of tara registered a positive performance in both value and volume in 2025 compared to 2024. Peru exported 41,313 tons for $77.7 million, up from 35,763 tons for $73.4 million achieved the previous year. The exportable supply is based on production from regions such as Lima, Cajamarca, and Ayacucho, consolidating Peru as the world's leading exporter of tara. According to Fresh Fruit, this increase was accompanied by a moderation in prices, as the average price fell from $2.05/kg in 2024 to $1.88/kg in 2025. Tara exports maintained a relatively stable flow throughout the year, with value peaks in January, August, and October, months that exceeded $7 million. Compared to 2024, the export dynamism was sustained mainly by the higher volume shipped, while monthly prices were, on average, below the levels observed the previous year, consolidating a trend of expansion based on volume.
