In 2024, Peru's citrus industry, particularly mandarins, experienced significant growth. The country saw a 19% increase in volume and a 35% increase in value in mandarin shipments, reaching 230,038 tons worth US$ 300 million. The average price per kilogram also rose by 14% to US$ 1.30. Peru exported to 33 markets, with the United States being the largest buyer (57% of exports), followed by Mexico and the Netherlands. Nearly 100 exporters contributed, with Consorcio de Productores de Fruta S.A. being the largest (20% share), and DP World was the preferred shipping terminal for many. However, exports in December 2024 saw a decrease compared to the same month in the previous year.
