In recent years, there has been a sustained growth in the level of pineapple exports, both in volume and value. Until October, the level of shipments amounted to 267 tons for a value of US$ 3.6 million, which implied a growth of 19%, both in volume and value. Regarding the price, there was practically no variation and it remained at US$ 13 per kilogram. For another year, dehydrated pineapple continued to be the most common form of product exports, accounting for 99.58% of total shipments. This presentation was exported with variations, both in the type of cut that is made to the pineapple and in the packaging, which range from tapers, bags and boxes with weights from 2 to 10 kilos.
