As a consequence, the share of sales of food products in foreign trade turnover increased. Producers and companies responsible for the distribution of Polish food in the European Union countries and around the world, met the stringent sanitary requirements and reacted appropriately to the changing socio-economic situation. The global pandemic has confirmed that food is a basic necessity, and ensuring food security is one of the key challenges of central government. Maintaining the sustainability of agri-food supply chains was one of the key elements of the anti-crisis strategies. Meanwhile, the past year has shown that among the main trading partners of Poland there was a decrease in exports to almost all countries, except Germany and Sweden, and an increase in imports - from China, South Korea and the Netherlands.
