In the first half of 2024, Paraná achieved its second-best performance in pork exports, shipping 79 thousand tons, just shy of the 2023 record. While exports to key partners like Hong Kong and Argentina declined, new markets such as Vietnam, Georgia, and the Dominican Republic saw significant growth. Paraná exported pork to 70 countries, benefiting from rigorous health controls and its status as a Foot and Mouth Disease Free Area without Vaccination. Despite high export volumes, Paraná remains Brazil's largest domestic pork supplier. Overall, a 2% increase in exports is projected for 2024 compared to the 579 thousand tons exported in 2023.
