Pork meat gains strength in the domestic and external market

Pork has maintained competitiveness in the domestic market in September, according to the November edition of the Agro in Data report, prepared by the State Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (Seapa). The document indicates that the product "has proven to be competitive against beef," although the competition "remains fierce with chicken." The combination of higher demand and limited supply is expected to put pressure on prices in the coming months, in a scenario where domestic purchases traditionally increase in the second half of the year. The production cost in Goiás registered a decrease in the third quarter. "The value was R$ 6.25 per kilo, a reduction of 6.2% compared to the previous quarter," reported Embrapa.
