In the first half of 2024, Portugal experienced a notable shift in its agricultural exports. While pig exports saw a significant increase of 6.7%, reaching 328,416 heads, the overall meat exports decreased by 4.9% with a drop in both frozen and fresh/chilled meat exports by 6.5% and 1.2% respectively. Conversely, offal exports experienced a surge, increasing by 22.5%. This shift resulted in a decrease in the turnover of sales abroad by 7.9%, totaling 101,195 million euros in 2024, a figure that was 9.7 million euros less than the previous year.
