PSA in Spain: China confirms acceptance of regionalization by Province

The Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, Luís Planas, met with representatives of the swine sector and, during the subsequent press conference, informed about the Ministry's actions regarding export certificates for third countries. He highlighted that China, the destination of almost 42% of Spanish pork exports to third countries, worth more than 1.1 billion euros, accepts regionalization, which means it will no longer import products originating only from the Province of Barcelona. The minister emphasized that two-thirds of the export certificates for Spanish pork remain active and that his department is working to lift the current restrictions as quickly as possible.
