Since Law 27.279 on the Management of Empty Pesticide Containers was enacted nine years ago, the private sector has been fulfilling its part regardless of the responsibility that falls to the State, which has not been fully covered due to the lack of implementation of a "Unique Traceability System" (SUT). Since 2018, pesticide manufacturing companies have had their own civil association - CampoLimpio - to recover and revalue the containers, which already operates with 92 centers across the country and prides itself on being the only environmental management system in the sector. Following the enabling of a new storage and treatment plant in Santiago del Estero, CampoLimpio announced that it has just signed a cooperation agreement with the Argentine Petrochemical Institute (IPA) focused on research, technological innovation, and the search for new destinations for the plastic from empty pesticide containers.
