Turkey has seen a significant increase in its sesame exports, with a 62% rise from $77 million in 2022 to $124.5 million in 2023, and aims to reach $250 million. The country's high-quality sesame is particularly popular in Japan and Europe. In the first two months of 2024, exports to Japan alone surged by 170%. Additionally, Turkey also experienced growth in cumin and anise exports. The main destinations for Turkey's sesame exports in 2023 were Poland, Iraq, and Germany.
