In the third month of the current Iranian calendar year, the production of red meat in Iran increased by two percent compared to the previous month, totaling 33,167 tons. The majority of this production was beef and veal, followed by lamb and mutton. However, the supply of red meat in the third month of the year was 28 percent lower than the same month in the previous year. Iran's red meat consumption is lower than in countries like the U.S. and Australia due to Islamic law prohibiting pork, and the majority of Iran's red meat imports come from countries like Brazil, where religious rules are directly controlled by Iranian supervisors.
