Starting May 22, Kazakhstan will allow the import and transit of pigs and pig products from 33 regions of Russia that are free from African swine fever, following negotiations between the head of Rosselkhoznadzor, Sergei Dankvert, and the Vice Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan, Amangaliy Berdalin. The agreement includes the import and transit of various pork-related products, feed additives, and used equipment for transporting and processing pigs. Rosselkhoznadzor and the Kazakh veterinary service will continue discussions on lifting restrictions from additional regions of Russia, with plans for technical specialists to negotiate and a visit from Russian representatives to provide advisory assistance.
