Russia's major vegetable-producing regions, Astrakhan and Volgograd, are experiencing a shortage of imported seeds for tomatoes, carrots, and onions, ahead of the spring sowing season. Astrakhan has approximately 77% of vegetable seeds and 70% of tomato seeds, while Volgograd only has 20% of carrot and onion seeds. Despite requests for supplies to France and Hungary, there has been no response and no logistics supply chains have been established. This shortage could potentially lead to a decrease in the sown area and a subsequent reduction in the tomato harvest.
