Kazakhstan has seen a dramatic increase in its vegetable oil production in the first half of the current agricultural season, with a 100% rise to 292,338 thousand tons compared to the previous season. This surge is primarily due to a 113% increase in the production of unrefined sunflower oil, reaching 229,379 tons. Additionally, there has been a 22% increase in the production of refined sunflower oil, totaling 85,375 tons. The country also witnessed a 105% increase in the production of high-protein feed like sunflower meal and cake, with over 251 thousand tons produced. The rise in sunflower oil production is set to further boost the economy by reducing the cost of high-protein feed by up to 30%.
