Sunflower oil production increased in Kazakhstan

According to the results of the first half of the current agricultural season, the production of vegetable oils in Kazakhstan increased by almost 100%, reaching 292,338 thousand tons, while for the same period of the 2021-2022 season, the production of oils amounted to 146,208 tons. This was reported by the press service of the National Association of Oilseed Processors (NAPMC). In particular, a 113% increase is recorded in the production of unrefined sunflower oil, which was produced in 6 months of the current season by 229,379 tons. This is while for the same period last season, this figure was at around 107,579 tons. There is also a noticeable increase in the production of refined sunflower oil in the current season. From September 2022 to February 2023, domestic oil plants produced 85,375 tons of this product, which is 22% ahead of the reporting period last year, when 69,968 tons of refined oil were produced.
