Ministry of Supply in Egypt revealed that the price of a ton of sugar cane will be announced next month

Informed sources in the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade revealed that during the next month, the price of a ton of sugar cane will be announced from farmers in the 2023 crop harvest season, through the Higher Ministerial Committee for Sugar. It is noteworthy that the sugar cane harvest season begins in December of each year until the end of April in the following year. The sources suggested to Al-Mal that the price of supplying sugar cane in the next season 2023 ranges from 1,000 to 1,200 pounds per ton, and it is intended that 8 million tons be supplied. It is noteworthy that last season witnessed the supply of cane at a price of 810 pounds. The sources indicated that the expected increase in supply prices is due to several reasons, namely the increase in the quantities supplied this season compared to last year, which witnessed the supply of 7.7 million tons of sugar cane, in addition to encouraging farmers to supply as much sugar cane as possible in the 2023 harvest, ...
