Despite a slight increase in the stock of milking cows in Argentina in 2023, milk production fell by 2% to 11,325 million liters, according to the Dairy Chain Observatory. The number of dairy farms remained stable and the proportion of milk production for the domestic market increased to 79.6%, leading to a 14.2% decrease in exports. The Observatory forecasts a further 2.8% decline in dairy productivity in 2024.
