Taiwan is set to become the first Asian nation to eradicate Classical Swine Fever (CSF) by 2024, as announced by the chairman of the Taiwan Council of Agriculture, Minister Chen Chi-chung. The country has not reported any domestic CSF cases since 2016. This achievement will allow Taiwan to stop vaccinating pigs for CSF, leading to a reduction in farming costs and potentially increasing market access, as the nation may apply to the World Organization for Animal Health for recognition as a CSF-free country.
