The Tanzanian government has allocated a subsidy of 90bn/- to boost agricultural production, with a focus on increasing cashewnut harvest from 240,000 tonnes to 400,000 tonnes in a single year. The goal is to further raise production to 700,000 tonnes by 2025/26, by expanding cashew farming regions and increasing domestic processing capacity. The government also aims to improve quality control in cashew processing to increase export revenue. Additionally, the government plans to distribute seedlings and provide loans to processing companies to modernize their equipment, with a focus on maintaining high-quality standards to retain markets in the USA and European Union.
