In the second quarter of 2024, Vietnam experienced a significant growth in value-added pangasius exports, with a 43% increase and a total export value of $9 million. The first half of the year saw a 28% rise in cumulative exports, reaching $17 million and accounting for 2% of the country's total pangasius exports. Thailand and the UK were the largest markets, with Thailand importing over $3 million worth and the UK importing over $2 million. Australia also showed a 40% increase in imports, totaling over $2 million. Despite Thailand's import drop in May, it resumed in June, doubling its imports compared to the previous year. The UK and Australia's imports were predominantly frozen breaded pangasius fillets and fingers, respectively. This growth highlights the increasing global demand for the diversity and quality of Vietnamese value-added pangasius products.
