[Livestock and Fisheries Quality Evaluation Agency=Reporter Hong Jeong-min] The Livestock Products Quality Evaluation Agency (hereinafter referred to as the LPQEA) recently published the "2025 Low Carbon Livestock Certification Excellence Casebook," which contains the operational results and actual cases of the low carbon livestock certification system. According to the LPQEA, the low carbon livestock certification system is a pilot project that has been in operation since 2023, certifying farms that reduce greenhouse gas emissions by more than 10% compared to the average emissions by livestock type. To date, a total of 600 farms have been certified, and preparations are underway for the transition to the full-scale project next year. The casebook includes details such as △the current status of low carbon certified farms by region and livestock type △certification standards by livestock type △excellent cases of low carbon certified farms △and excellent distributors of low carbon certified livestock products.
