The Canchim bovine breed has just achieved an important breakthrough for Brazilian cattle farming with the creation of the “Canchim on Dairy” seal, aimed at producing quality beef from dairy herds. The certification follows the Beef on Dairy concept and positions the breed as a strategic alternative to increase the profitability and efficiency of production systems. The “Canchim on Dairy” seal identifies bulls of the breed suitable for crossing with dairy cows, especially the Girolando breed. The proposal is to use breeding stock genetics in dairy herds to generate calves with greater commercial value. With this, producers now have a new source of income, taking advantage of animals that, in traditional systems, would have lower market value.
