The Council of Ministers has endorsed today the new emergency measures promoted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food to address outbreaks of contagious nodular dermatosis and avian influenza in Spain, amounting to a total of 1.16 million euros. The resolutions aim to acquire 500,000 doses of vaccines against the contagious nodular dermatosis virus, for an amount of 660,000 euros, and on the other hand, to reinforce the management of avian influenza by the regional veterinary services worth 499,877 euros. Contagious Nodular Dermatosis of cattle (DNC) is a viral disease of cattle that causes fever, skin lesions, weakness, and, in about 10% of cases, the death of the animal. It is a notifiable disease in the European Union due to its high capacity for dissemination and the significant economic damage it generates in the affected countries.
